Happy Spring!

Spring has finally arrived, and the snow has begun to melt! Swim lessons are finally over, and last week baseball season has begun! Jake is playing on a minor league team, and Emily has started T-ball. Josh is staying busy with 4-H and taking care of his flock of chickens.

Spring Day!!

The weatherman says that today is our last nice spring day for awhile- so we decided to take advantage of it and do some hiking. We headed out to Groton State Forest and hiked the loop trail and then had lunch at the windy boulder beach. We decided it was too chilly by the beach and were going to go back up to the nature center to play frisbee, when jake decided to fall, and split his lip. At first we though it was his mouth, then his hands, there was blood everywhere. It is a deep gash and for a few minutes we seriously thought he was going to need stiches. Thankfully- it stopped on his own!!

He was fine by the time the blood stopped dripping. Such a trooper! So we decided to go for one more little hike at Kettle Pond to look for animal tracks and frog eggs. Daddy and Jake stayed in the car while mommy and Josh ventured out. Unfortunately no animal tracks- trail was too dry- but we did find the mecca of frog eggs. There were thousands and thousands of them!! We snatched up a small clump of eggs then dashed to the car to have daddy and jake come check it out, before heading home!
