Happy Spring!

Spring has finally arrived, and the snow has begun to melt! Swim lessons are finally over, and last week baseball season has begun! Jake is playing on a minor league team, and Emily has started T-ball. Josh is staying busy with 4-H and taking care of his flock of chickens.

Blueberry Picking

We had an adventurous day today. Peyton and her mom came over and then we headed over to the National Forest to do some blueberry picking. The road to the berry fields had been washed out during our recent floods, so the going was a bit slow. Leave it to me to go around the baracades that said local traffic only, and not take the detour. We made it there all in one piece, although some spots were a bit sketchy. On the way we wanted to stop by one of our favorite waterfalls- texas falls- but to our suprise we couldn't go to the falls as the flood had taken out the bridge that over looked the falls, and most of the road was gone as well.

Sadly we missed peak blueberries probably by a good week to two weeks, so it was slim pickings. So onto plan B- the pick your own berry farm. These bushes were LOADED and the kids had a blast. Josh and I wound up picking close to 5 pounds of blueberries. Jake probably picked a good pound at least but wound up eating them all!

We took the scenic route home and stopped at moss glen falls. With all the rain we've had this summer is was bigger than usual, which made for a nice picture! On the down side with all this rain and cooler temps we saw many trees that already have begun to start changing colors. *Sigh* way tooo early for that!!!

ummm Jake we are supposed to put them in our basket not eat them

Josh says this is how you do it.

Hey you two stop smoochin and get back to pickin

This is why we couldn't get to texas falls
