Happy Spring!

Spring has finally arrived, and the snow has begun to melt! Swim lessons are finally over, and last week baseball season has begun! Jake is playing on a minor league team, and Emily has started T-ball. Josh is staying busy with 4-H and taking care of his flock of chickens.

Saco River Camping Trip

We had a great time camping in Maine this weekend, inspite of the weather. The weather didn't give us too many breaks, everytime the sun popped out and we came up with an idea of something to do the thunder would chime in and tell us mother nature had other plans for us. Unfortunately because of the rain we have been getting the past week, including this weekend, the river was way too dangerous for us to canoe on. There were many people that we watched who attempted to canoe the river, with not a lot of success. Sadly, there were even a few casualties on the river this weekend as well.

Eventhough the weather wasn't cooperating, we still had a lot of fun. On Sunday we ventured into north conway and explored the train depot (where we saw Thomas two years ago) and visited the Mt. Washington Weather Observatory museum. Both were big hits for the boys. Although if you ask them by far their most favorite activity was running and jumping in the GIANT puddles during the torrential down pour on Sunday night!

Lesson learned this weekend: You can never have enough tarps hung up around your campsite :)

The falls just below our campground- where we would of put in- this was during flood stage a few hours before the river crested!

The turn table and engines at the train depot

Sunday afternoon- need I say more

Two little drown monkeys having a blast in the puddles

All dry- relaxing in the tent before bed time

I just bought Maddy a leap pad. I think she could still be a tad too young for it. But she loves playing it with me.
