Happy Spring!

Spring has finally arrived, and the snow has begun to melt! Swim lessons are finally over, and last week baseball season has begun! Jake is playing on a minor league team, and Emily has started T-ball. Josh is staying busy with 4-H and taking care of his flock of chickens.

Catching Up....

Sorry for the lack of posts over the past week. We have been super busy, some days I need to stop and think about what day it is. Now that Josh is back in school Jake, Emily and I are trying to get back into a routine. Jake is adjusting slowly to the fact that Josh is gone all the time. He definetly misses his big brother.
Last Friday we all went with Josh's class to the Champlain Valley Fair in Burlington. We had perfect weather, and had a lot of fun hanging out with 2 other families from his class. His class left after lunch to return to school but we chose to stay at the fair with the other 2 families and let the kiddos ride on the rides. We nearly had a heart attack when we found out that it was going to cost us $50 to buy the boys wrist bands to ride the rides! That is INSANE. Otherwise it was $1.25 a ticket and the rides took 3-4 tickets. So we made sure that we got our money's worth, and let them go on rides for over 2 hours. Luckily it wasn't busy so they could ride and ride without waiting long.
On Saturday we went to Grandma Claire and Papa Tractor's house for a bbq and to swim in the river. The boys had a lot of fun helping papa work on his dam by stacking the rocks. Even Emily got in the river and had a lot of fun splashing around as well.

Other than that our life is being consumed with getting ready for winter. Its crazy to think that in 6 weeks we could have our first snow fall. Gives me chills to even think about it. Brian and our neighbor have been spending every free day on the weekends in the northeast kingdom (our neighbor owns a TON of land up there) cutting trees down and hauling it back. So far they have brought home about 5 cords (3 next door and 2 for us). So they are about half way done. We each need 5 cords. Then comes the not so fun part of splitting and stacking. I spent a good portion of the day today splitting (by HAND, if I can move my arms tomorrow it will be a miracle!). We seriously need to get a log splitter, or even rent one. Oh how that would make life so much easier, and more efficient!!!
