Happy Spring!

Spring has finally arrived, and the snow has begun to melt! Swim lessons are finally over, and last week baseball season has begun! Jake is playing on a minor league team, and Emily has started T-ball. Josh is staying busy with 4-H and taking care of his flock of chickens.

The fun of living in a small town

Every few weeks or so our local newspaper publishes a small amount of the calls that come into the Montpelier and Barre Police Stations. Here are a few of my recent favorites.

Noisy neighbor on Hebert Road, stomps her feet, slams cupboards.

Concerned about alpaca with bucket around neck on Elm Street

Police handing out warning fliers for winter parking ban.

Car parked for 25 minutes in 15-minute spot on Barre Street.

A male reportedly stole a 40 ounce beer from a location on South Main Street.

A dog reportedly attacked some rabbits on Eastern Avenue.

A caller said she was hit over the head at a bar on Eastern Avenue about a week ago. The caller said she was intoxicated now and will fill out statements and talk to an officer when she hasn't been drinking. (my favorite!)

A problem with students and Facebook was reported at Spaulding High School.

A caller said a wallet and two boxes of cereal were taken from his unlocked truck the previous night on Jones Brook Road in Moretown.
