It's a new year and once again we've all made our resolutions. This year I am bound and determined to stick with them!!
The first one is to de-stuff-if-fy my house. Ha ha not sure if that is a real word, but it works! We have wayyyyy to much stuff in this house, and its time for it to go. If we plan on moving this year or early next year then really its time for a lot of the junk to get out! So with that we started gung-ho yesterday with the bookshelves in the front hallway. Seriously why on earth were we keeping notes and textbooks from college? Those were the first to go, and then it just grew from there. I have soo much free space on those shelves now. Brian asked what I was going to fill them up with now. Ummm hello the whole idea of purging was to get rid of stuff not to fill them back up with new stuff. I said lovely dust bunnies. LOL My goal is to tackle one room in the house every month. I think its a good goal that isn't too over ambitious, so it should be do-able.
In one of the list serv's I am on, someone issued a challenge for everyone to grocery shop from their cabinets for a minimum of 2 weeks. This means to avoid going to the grocery store for anything other than the major necessities- milk, toiletpaper, toothpaste things like that. I know that there are many can goods in my cabinets that I buy weekly but do not get used up. So I am all for this challenge! I plan on baking all of our bread, and josh's baked goods for lunch, and we have a freezer with lots of meat, so it should be an easy goal. I hope! I'll keep you updated in our progress!
The other challenge on that list was to only pay cash for things for an entire month. So I am all on board for that one as well.
I hope I didn't bite off more than I can chew, so we'll see....... to be continued!

sounds good ! LOVE getting rid of stuff. We always eat out of the freezer/pantry in January - last night I made the best dinner out of LEFTOVERS! :)
