This morning Emily went back to see Dr. Joe for a recheck on her wheezing, and for another round of shots since she is super behind on her schedule. After a week with nebulizer treatments and another round of orapred, she is still wheezing. But to our suprise her 02 sats were at 100% which is great, up from the 90% she had last week, so that is a wonderful improvement!
Her left ear was inflamed but he couldn't see any fluid in there, partially because Emily was putting up a big fight, so we are going to have to watch her for cues that her ear becomes infected.
I decided that she was only going to get one shot today, since she didn't like having 2 last week. She had a fever for 102 for almost 24 hours afterwards.
So as of right now we have no immediate follow up appointments, unless her ear starts to bug her. The plan is to watch and continue using the nebulizer as needed, and then re-evaluate again at her next regular appointment (18 months!). If she is still wheezing then, we will be getting another referral to go back to the Pulmonologist for more testing.
