Christmas was actually quite fun this year. This is the first year that both boys started to really believe in Santa so that made it that much more fun!
We did our present opening in three shifts (spread it out so they didn't get too overwhelmed at once) and then that also allowed our family to watch the boys open their presents that they had sent. Although we had a few technical difficulties with the web cam and audio, it was still a great opportunity to share the boy's joy with our family.
On Christmas eve Brian went and purchased a new couch. Our 7 year old futon is now a thing of the past. We were able to sell it on craigslist! Getting the couch into the house was a chore as it didn't quite fit through the front door and the back door measured even smaller. After a few minutes of demolition to the door jam we were able to get it in. During the demolition we discovered that part of the door jam has rotted out and the actual door has started to rust and get a hole as well. So this spring that project will be added to our never ending to do list including reframing the door jam and installing a new front door.
The boys enjoyed their gifts immensly. Highlights from us included for jake his own big boy bike with training wheels, and an airplane, and josh's was a set of walkie talkies and dinosaurs.
We hope you all had a wonderful holiday and have a wonderful new year! Our next big adventure will be our annual trip to Montreal in a few weeks.
We posted a few pictures in the blog below from our christmas morning. Enjoy
