Happy Spring!

Spring has finally arrived, and the snow has begun to melt! Swim lessons are finally over, and last week baseball season has begun! Jake is playing on a minor league team, and Emily has started T-ball. Josh is staying busy with 4-H and taking care of his flock of chickens.

Clyde is working his *magic*

Last year Gina introduced me to this great Christmas kit! The elf on the shelf comes with a little elf and a great book. In the book it tells the boys that Santa sent one of his special elves to our house to watch over them. Each night he flies back to the North Pole to report to santa whether they were good or naughty that day. Then in the morning he returns and finds a new hiding spot in the house. So when the boys get up they have to find the elf. The book explains that they can talk to Clyde (the name picked by the boys) and tell him what they would like, but Santa's rule is that clyde can't talk back. And they are not allowed to touch him because then he will loose his magic and not be able to return to the north pole.

Last night we brought out Clyde and the book, and already he is working his magic. Each time the boys were naughty I would remind them clyde was watching and they shaped up right away! Jake is actually a lil scared of clyde. Today when he was naughty he screamed and cried when I told him I was going to tell clyde to tell santa he was naughty.

So far Clyde is working his magic, I just hope we can find enough hiding spots between now and Christmas eve. lol
